Candidates for the Advanced Level qualification take four papers. Papers 3 and 4 may be taken either in the same session as Papers 5, 6, 7 and 8 or in an earlier examination session.
Candidates are required to take Papers 3, 4, 5 and 6, 7 or 8.

Paper 5 - Shakespeare and Other pre-20th Century Texts
Paper 6 - 20th Century Texts
Paper 7 - Comment and Appreciation
